‘Time’ sets up the dub-sensibility of what is to come on the album, TRUE NATURE; a culmination of tracks written over several years drawing influence from Alpha & Omega, Massive Attack, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Lee Scratch Perry and Bob Marley.

“Alison’s hypnotic bass parts define the sound, and that meditative groove is everywhere,” says Werner.

The track speaks to the realization that change is necessary to grow and that old habits die hard but die they must. “LA can grind you down if you stay in it too long. I was questioning my sense of place, home, music, life and in particular a relationship that wasn’t quite working out. ‘Time’ is a song stating the obvious. I was looking for relief, and hoping it would be music to take me away and out of the stagnation.” says Werner.
